The Rev. David Holcombe officiated. Burial was in Fairview Poplar Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Gill died Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Clay County Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Hoyt Gill of Lineville; seven daughters, Sara Mae Stanford and Marjorie Ann Campbell of Ashland, Dorothy Ann Baker of Talladega, Geraldine Nimon of Wedowee, Mary Ethel Baker of Barfield, Katherine McCollum of Cragford and Cecelia Wesson of Prattville; two sons, Robert Eugene Gill of Cragford and Billy Wayne Gill of Ashland; three sisters, Pauline Gaither of Ashland, Alice Mae Massey of Lineville and Edna Trout of Florida; a brother, Charles Turley of Heflin; 38 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Seburn Nimon, Kenneth Nimon, Glen Stanford, Christopher Hester, Nicholas Nimon and Donald East. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Lee East and William McCollum. Mrs. Gill was a native of Etowah County and had lived in Clay County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Additional Comments: She was born Dec 1, 1914. She was the daughter of R.L.
