Ashland Progress
Mrs. Elizabeth Gill, who was until about 12 or 15 years ago a life-long resident 
of this community, died at the home of her son Rister Gill, in Columbus, Ga., 
Tuesday, February 26, and her remains were brought back here to her old home for 
burial. A funeral service was held at the Ashland Baptist church on Thursday, 
the 28th, and the interment was in the city cemetery. Mrs. Gill was 75 years of 
age. Her husband died many years ago and she is survived by only two sons. Homer 
Gill of Ashland, and Rister Gill of Columbus, with whom she made her home. It 
was in accordance with her wishes that her remains were brought here for the 
final resting place.
