Gillie, 81, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home on Wedowee Star Route at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 18. He was a member of the Baptist Church for 62 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ninnie Gillie; three sons Lillard, Jim, and Raymond Gillie, all of Texas; five daughters: Mrs. Ginnie Hale, of Nashville, Mrs. Erie Grimsinger, of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. W. F. Clifton and Mrs. Albert Lipham, of Louisville, and Mrs. Ezra Lipham, of Wedowee; and one sister, Mrs. Hattie Cunningham, of Nashville. Funeral services were held from the New Harmony Church at Cragford at 2 p. m. on Sunday, March 20. Interment was in the church cemetery, with Quattlebaum's Funeral Home in charge.
