Ashland Progress
Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at Macedonia Baptist church for 
Miss Hilda Golden, who died in Birmingham hospital on the 25th, following a long 
illness. The services were conducted by Rev. W. A. Wiggins of Talladega, 
assisted by Elder H. T. Tapley of Alexander City, and Elder B. B. Finley of 
Goodwater. Interment was in the Macedonia cemetery with Blair directing. The 
deceased is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Golden, of the Shiloh 
community, four sisters, Mrs. Pearson McEachern, Mrs. Edgar Butts and Mrs. 
Marshall Shaw, all of Bemiston, and Miss Marjorie Golden of Lineville. She is 
also survived by four brothers, W. of Fairfax, Woodrow. of Riverview, Linwood 
and Douglas of Lineville. Active pallbearers were Marshall Shaw, Pearson 
McEachern, Edgar Butts, Cullen Dykes, Roy McKinney and Hamilton Weldon.
