Ashland Progress
Mrs. Goodman, wife of Elder H. H. Goodman, died at her home two miles south of 
Ashland at 8 clock Tuesday morning after an illness of about 7 months during 
which time she was a great sufferer and was several times given up to die. She 
would revive, however, and her family and friends would again entertain hopes of 
her recovery. She was recently carried to a Talladega hospital for treatment, 
her condition proved to be hopeless and she was brought home a few days before 
her death. Mrs. Goodman (nee Elliott) was born in 1870 and was married to Mr. 
Goodman in 1889. To them were born eleven children, nine of whom are still 
living two sons and seven daughters. Funeral services attended by a very large 
congregation of her relatives and friends were held at Macedonia church 
Wednesday. Elder M. Shaddix led in the service and Elder B. B. Finley and 
several others; took part. The interment was in Macedonia cemetery.
