C. Graben 76, who lived two miles east of Barfield was buried Monday after a long illness from cancer. Interment was in the Barfield cemetery following funeral at the church where he had been a member and deacon for many years. Masons were in charge at the grave and gave impressive ceremony with O. O. Mitchell leading. Reverends Martin, Robt Ingram, Frank Ingram and Layton, pastor and former pastor took part in the funeral ceremony. Besides the widow, eleven children and many grandchildren survive. The children are, Lewis Graben, Lineville, J. C. Graben Villa Rica, Ga., R. B. Graben, Albertville, Ala., Mrs. Leana Prestridge, Nauvoo Ala., Mrs. J. H. McDonald, Rt 3, Mrs. J. M. Robinson, Roanoke, Ala., Mrs. Clay McDonald, Mrs. W. C. Craft, Mrs. Z. R. East, Mrs. Whatley, and Mrs. Frank. Haynie all of Lineville, Rt 3. Three brothers survive, Tom, Clay and B. H. Graben. He was a son of the late Lewis Graben, who came to America from Berlin when but a youth, lived and reared his family in the community of his father. He had acquired a nice farm and was one of the most substantial citizens of the county.
