Services for Mattie Smith Graben, 101, of Lineville are today at 2 p.m. at 
Barfield Baptist Church, with Rev. Wayne Adams and Dr. Wayne A. Stevens 
officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge. Burial will be in the adjoining 
cemetery. Mrs. Graben died Saturday at Chapman Nursing Home in Alexander City. 
Survivors. include a son, Herman Graben of Kellyton; a brother, W.A. Smith of 
Alexander City, seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 16 great-
greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Mrs. Graben, a native and 
lifelong resident of Clay County, was a homemaker and a member of Barfield 
Baptist Church.
