Ashland Progress
Mrs. Leola Graben passed away March 28, 1953, at the age of 75 years. She was 
born July 25, 1877 and was married to Clay N. Graben in Dec. 1896. She is 
survived by her husband, Mr. Clay Graben, 8 children namely: Floyd, Ben, 
Roosevelt, Coleman and Thurmon Graben, Mrs. Myrtle Humphries, Clara Graben and 
Mrs. Leon Wilkerson. 9 grandchildren Lenvil, Clemon, Clarence, DeLynn, Clayton, 
Daniel and Jerry Graben. Katherine Graben Wilson and Little Clara Lee Humphries. 
And by 11 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Rufus and Grover Pope, and 1 sister, 
Mrs. Omie McCollum. She united with Pleasant Grove Church at the age of 24. She 
was a true companion, faithful mother and loyal to her church until death. 
Funeral services were held at McCollum Baptist Church with Bro. G. C. Shaddix, 
Bro. K. V. McDonald, Bro. B. W. Mathews, Bro. W. R. Ingram officiating. Blair in 
charge. Grandsons acted as pallbearers.
