Alexander City Outlook
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m., at Bethany for 
Mrs. Flora Laverne Grant, 25, whose death occurred on Thursday morning. 
Officiating were the Rev. Mr. Birchfield and the Rev. Mr. Denny and burial in the 
adjoining cemetery was directed by Sam Anderson Funeral Home. Mrs. Grant is 
survived by her husband, J. L. Grant; one son, J. L. Grant, Jr.; parents, Mr. and 
Mrs. Corbin Cheaney; one brother, Howard Cheaney; one sister, Marjorie Cheaney 
and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Cheaney. Pallbearers were Olin Scott, Doug 
Moody, Bob Adcock, Homer Lee Forshee, Crayton Spates and Curtis Anderson.
