Ashland Progress 
L. J. Gravette, World War I veteran died last Wednesday after spending 13 years 
in a veteran hospital. He was 62 years of age and is survived by one brother, 
Fayette Gravette of Sylacauga and a number of nieces and nephews. His funeral was 
conducted by Rev. Dee Hurst and Rev. W. R. Ingram at Hatchett Creek Baptist 
Church, Saturday p.m. with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Many relatives and 
friends from Sylacauga attended the funeral.
