Ashland Progress
Mr. John Gravette, passed away at his home near Ashland, Friday after noon, July 
9, at 2 o'clock, following an illness of three weeks. He was 84 years of age. He 
is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eddie Gravette, and 3 sons, Mr. R. C. Gravette of 
Bluff Spring, Mr. Oscar Gravette of Talladega, Mr. Ellis Gravette of Ashland; 
three daughters, Mrs. Ada Germany, Mrs. Ola Horn, and, Mrs. Mae Canady, all of 
Chandler Springs. The pallbearers were his grandsons, Homer Gravette, John 
Gravette, Bruce Gravette, Mallory Gravette, Howard Germany, Joe Robert Gravette. 
The interment was made at Liberty cemetery, Blair in charge.
