Ashland Progress
Former Millerville Boy Passed Away Lenwood Gravette, age 42, was killed instantly 
on Sept. 10, when hit by a car in Lafayette where he and his family had lived for 
several years. He was born at Millerville and spent his early years here. He is 
survived by his wife, three sons, two daughters, his mother, Mrs. Serena Carr 
Jordan of Alex City, one brother, two sisters and a host of other relatives. His 
father was the late Stokley Gravette. Funeral services were conducted by his 
pastor Rev. Mooney of Kellyton at the First Baptist Church in Lafayette on Sept. 
12 and interment was in the Millerville Cemetery with Johnson-Sanders Funeral 
Directors of Lafayette in charge.
