Services for Scottie P. Gravette age 68 were at Liberty Baptist Church with the 
Rev. A.A. Jacobs and the Rev. Phillips Oliver officiating. Burial was in the 
adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Gravette died 
Tuesday at Clay County Hospital after a long illness. Survivors include her 
husband, Ellis B. Gravette of Ashland; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Jean Carr of 
Ashland; two sisters, Mrs. Nola Sims of Sylacauga and Mrs. Alverine Culberson of 
Alexander City; a brother, Claude Caldwell of Ashland. Pallbearers were Claude 
Culberson, Harvey Craft, John Edward Sims, Richard Black, John Gravette and Homer 
Gravette. Mrs. Gravette was a lifelong resident of Clay County and a homemaker.
