Services for Mrs. Bernice Ray Gravette, 76, of Ashland were Monday at Clay 
County Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Barry Cosper, the Rev. A.A. Jacobs and 
the Rev. Claude Collins officiating. Burial was in Liberty Baptist Church 
Cemetery. Mrs. Gravette died Saturday at Clay County Hospital.  Survivors 
include her husband, E.C. Gravette of Ashland; three
daughters, Mrs. Winnette Haynes of Oxford, Mrs. Ailene Woods and Mrs. Linda 
Hampton, both of Birmingham; three sons, Marvin Gravette of Arab, Kenneth 
Gravette of Ashland and Dewitt Gravette of Lineville; three, sisters, Mrs. Mary 
Lou Atkinson of Anniston, Mrs. Ruth Hayes of Lanett and Mrs. Evelyn Jones of 
Shawmut; two brothers, Rubin Ray and James Ray, both of. Lanett; 13 
grandchildren and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Scott Gravette, Buddy 
Haynes, David Haynes, Jerry Hampton, Thomas Gravette and Eddie Still. Mrs. 
Gravette was a Clay County native and lifelong resident, a homemaker and a 
member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.
