God to call from our midst our beloved Brother, Richard Sanford Gray. He was born December the 5th, 1827, and died September the 26th, 1913, and was 85 years 9 months and 21 days old at the time of his death. He was made a Mason at Daviston, Alabama, in 1862. He later moved his membership to Hardy-Howle Lodge at Delta, Alabama, of which lodge he was a member in good standing at the time of his death: Brother Gray was a faithful member, and we shall miss his presence in our lodge meetings. He was a good neighbor and a truthful and honest man. He leaves a wife, four sons and three daughters and a host of friends to mourn his loss. We mourn with his loved ones but bow in humble submission to the will of the Supreme Master of the Universe and commend the bereaved ones to Him Who doeth all things well. Loved ones, weep not for him who is gone, for, as the poet said, "Death is only a dream" and we trust that when we cross over death's dark river and join the redeemed of earth Brother Gray will be there to welcome us. Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be spread on the minutes of the Lodge, a, copy be furnished the bereaved family, and that it be published in The Headlight, J. K. Hardy, I.A. Garrett, W. J. Ingram, Commitee from Hardy-Howie. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/al/clay/obits/g/gray2485gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/alfiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
