Mrs. Mary Jane Gray was born Dec. 10, 1829, and died at the home of her daughter, one mile west of Delta, Aug. 20, 1918, being 89 year, 8 months and 10 days old. She was married to R. S. Gray in 1847, and unto this union nine children were born, and five of them are now living. She had been afflicted the last few years of her life but bore her afflictions with patience until God called her home to suffer no more. She united with the Methodist Church, South, at an early age and lived a Christian life. The funeral services were con ducted by Rev. R. D. Evans at Black's chapel Aug. 21st, and her remains were laid to rest in the Black's chapel cemetery to await the resurrection. We miss her smiling face. We miss her gentle voice that was never still. A place is vacant in our home That can never be filled. We should not wish her back for she is now in a home not made with hands. Remember: The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away; blessed be the name of the Lord. Her Granddaughter.
