Our Mountain Home
Funeral services of W. J. Green were held Monday, at Liberty Baptist Church three 
miles East of here. The services were conducted by Rev. A. A. Hutto, pastor of 
tie Ashland Baptist church, being assisted by Revs. F. J. Ingram, W. M. Worthy 
and H. Harris. Mr. Green died Sunday after a few weeks of illness. He was 75 
years of age and a Confederate Veteran. He was once treasurer of Clay County, 
eight years in succession. He was also secretary of Camp Pettus of from its 
organization till a few weeks ago. He is survived by his widow and one son, both 
of whom live here. A large crowd attended the services, and the body was buried 
at Liberty cemetery.
