Her death was a shock to the entire community and county. She was the widow of the late "Uncle David" Green. She was around 66 years of age, a lifelong resident of Mellow Valley, Clay County. She was a member of the County Line Baptist Church, having joined in her early childhood days She was an active church member and took a prominent part in the church and social welfare work in her community during her entire lifetime. She was one of the most beloved residents of her community. "To know her was to love her." The love and respect of the community was shown by the beautiful floral offerings, and large number of friends attending the funeral services which was held at Chapel Church, near Mellow Valley, April 6, at 11:00 a. m. Special song services led by Mrs. Lee Thompson were impressive. The Reverends Tapley and Preston officiated. Burial in Church Cemetery. She is survived by 4 sons, W.R., T.B., G.L. and T.J. Green. Two daughters, Mrs. H. G. Worthy and Mrs. W.H. Knight besides numerous other relatives and friends. Our hearts and those of the entire community goes out to each of them in their grief.
