She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Dingier, and at about the age of 13, the Lord opened her heart and filled her life with the joy of His abiding presence, and she joined the Baptist church at Mt. Prospect in Randolph County Ala and lived a beautify life until her death. Sha was united in marriages to John N. Gregg August 30ch, 1863, and to them were 16 children, 11 boys and 5 girls all of whom are living except 1 boy who died in infancy. She leaves a husband and ten sons, five daughters, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss. As a wife and mother, she was kind, loving, sympathetic and self-sacrificing for the comfort of the loved ones, and was ready at all times to help the needy and assist in Christian work of every kind for the relief of suffering humanity and the glory of G d. For many years before her death, she was a devoted member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist church at Barfield near her home in Clay County. She was buried at Black's Chapel in Clay County, and the funeral service was conducted by the writer, assisted by Revs J. W. Coffman and B.C. Bynum. The large crowd attending her funeral. A attested the fact that she was loved and highly esteemed by all who knew her. She lived a quiet, sweet, beautiful Christian life, and having finished her work on earth, she has entered into the rest that remained to the people of God. And, by and by, when the ransomed of the Lord shall gather at the river that flows by the throne of God, we shall see her again, washed in the blood and clothed in the white robe that God hath given.
