Services for Melissa Griffin, 2 1/2, of Ashland, Rt. 3, were today at Lystra 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Mahan and the Rev. Winfred Harris officiating. 
Burial was in Lystra Baptist Church Cemetery with Blair-Brock Funeral Home in 
charge. The child died Tuesday in a Birmingham hospital after a long illness. 
Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Griffin Sr. of Ashland; 
maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Suggs of Ashland; a sister, Miss Dianne 
Griffin of Ashland; and two brothers, John Griffin Jr. and David Eugene Griffin, 
both of Ashland. Pallbearers were Herbert Griffin, James Suggs, Marvin Hayes and 
George Harris.
