He was engineer and had been such for about ten years. Not far from the engine is saw that cuts wood for fuel. Mr. Griffin was caught in the belt that runs this saw and was several times carried under the wheel. One of his legs was torn off just below the knee and his body was badly bruised. He died few minutes after the accident. [This above story ran in several newspapers in Alabama.] Anniston Star: News reached here tonight that on Wednesday Bob Griffin was caught in the machinery of the gin at Wyatt, in Clay County, about which he was working, and was killed. He was engineer and had been such for about ten years. Not far from the engine is a saw that cuts wood for fuel. He died a few minutes after the accident. The gin is owned by Alexander & Griffin, the latter member being the father of the deceased.
