D. Griffin, passed away at his home here on last Sunday morning at six o'clock. "Uncle Joe" as he was familiarly known, had been very frail and feeble for some time but was confined to his bed only a few days. He had reached the ripe old age of 91. He had lived to see four wars. He is survived by one son, Barney Griffin, of the Chandler Springs community, and one daughter, Miss Audie Griffin, with whom he made his home, and a large number of relatives. Funeral services were held at Concord church on Monday morning at 11 o'clock with the Revs. S. C. Ray J. L. Ingram and J. F. Ray officiating. Interment was in the Concord cemetery with Blair in charge. Active pallbearers were grandsons Oscar Hamlin, Ewart Watts, Ed Watts, Vance Griffin and Bill Griffin. Honorary pallbearers were Dr D. B. Cardwell, G. W. Mackey, O. A Riley, Otto Gathier, P. A. Gray and G. C. Pace.
