Ashland Progress
News has been received in Ashland of the death of Pvt. Horace Hallman at Camp 
McCain, Miss. Reports are that he was found dead with his gun by his side. One 
shot had been fired. He was on duty as military police. The remains are being 
brought back to his home about two miles south of Ashland. Burial will take place 
on Friday at Lystra Baptist church. He is survived by two brothers, Hubert and 
Payton and three sisters.
