Ashland Progress
Funeral services for Mr. J. Allen Hallman were held at Liberty Hill Methodist 
Church on January 23rd at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Grady Birchfield and Rev. E. 
P. Grice. Interment was in church cemetery with Blair Funeral Directors in 
charge of arrangements. Graveside services were conducted by Ashland Masonic 
Lodge. Pallbearers were nephews, Jack Mattox, Thurman Hallman, Jack Hallman, 
Travis Hallman, Herbert Nappier, Harold Mattox. The deceased passed away 
unexpectedly at his home on the morning of January 22nd at the age of 64. 
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ida Hallman; two daughters. Mrs. Katherine 
James and Mrs. Vernell Padgett both of Alexander City; two grandchildren, two 
sisters and one brother.
