Services for Mrs. Alvie S. Hamil, 82, of Cragford, Rt. 1, were to be today at 2 
p.m. at Blair-Brock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie Joe Mallory and the 
Rev. A.U. Bobo officiating. Burial was to be in McDaniel's Chapel Cemetery with 
Blair-Brock Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Hamil died Tuesday in a local hospital 
after a short illness. Survivors include a daughter, Miss Mary Hamil of 
Cragford; a son, Howard Hamil of Cragford; two brothers, Hoyt P. Strong of 
Sylacauga and Olen T. Strong of Lineville granddaughter; and three 
greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers were to be Fred Rush, Crayton Kenady, Dewayne 
Burdette, A.O. Dawkins, Dr. Dwain Rush and Dwight Burdette. Mrs. Hamil was the 
wife of the late John Hamil. She was a native of Randolph County but had lived 
in Clay County most of her life. She was a member of Mount Gilead Methodist 
Church.
