Ashland Progress
Final rites for Mr. R. Harlan Hamil. 62, Ashland Rt. 1. were held at County Line 
Baptist Church at 2 o'clock p.m. on May 18th, with Rev. Elmon Mattox and Rev. J. 
R. Brown officiating. Interment was in adjacent cemetery with Blair Funeral 
Directors in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were James Crawford, John 
Crawford, Hubert Crawford, Howard Hamil. John D. Glenn, Jerry Long. Mr. Hamil 
passed away in Clay County Hospital on May 16th. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. 
Eva Lee Hamil; three daughters, Mrs. Juanita Glenn, Ashland Rt. Mrs. Ruby Jean 
Jones, Wedowee Rt. 3, Miss Sarah Ann Hamil, Ashland Rt. 1. Three sons, Billy Jo 
Hamil, Germany; Ronald Hamil, Alex City; Robert Henderson (Stepson) Opelika. Six 
grandchildren, one sister Mrs. U. V. Jones, Ashland Rt. 1.

Additional Comments:
Remains moved to the Clay County Memory Gardens.
