He was born July 24, 1858. Early in life he became member of the Missionary Baptist church of which he was a useful and appreciated member. He was never content when idle, appreciated the smallest deed of kindness, and least of remembrance. Grandfather bore his afflictions with patients having been in ill health for over a year, yet he never murmured at his lot, ever trusting in God. He leaves to mourn his death a wife, two sons, one daughter, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were conducted by Revs. S. J. Ingram, T. G. Burgess, F. J. Ingram and Elder H. H. Goodman. His body was laid to rest in Olive Branch cemetery. We will miss him so much, though we cannot wish him back again, but say: "Sleep on dear one, and take thy rest; God called thee home, he loveth the best." His Granddaughter.
