E. Hampton Dies After Short Illness Mr. T. E. Hampton died of pneumonia at his home in the Barfield community, four miles east of Lineville, last Saturday and his remains were laid to rest in the Moncedonia cemetery Sunday afternoon. The deceased was a young farmer in the very prime of life and was a useful citizen. He is survived by a widow and several children. Additional Comments: Thomas Edward "Tommy" Hampton was married to Cynthia Marthena Carpenter. At his death, he was survived by six sons: Grover Cephas, Edward Homer, Clarence Dale, Clifton, Zachary Thomas (Z. T.), and James Frank. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sarah Jane and his parents Ephraim Burton and Sara Ruth (Peek) Hampton. On March 31, 1918, his last child Lela Mae was born.
