He was buried in the Wesobulga cemetery near Cragford. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Grady Birchfieid, pastor of the Mellow Valley Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. O.C. Nichols, pastor of the Cragford Baptist Church arid Rev. Bailey, pastor of the Cragford Church. Blair directing. He became a member of the Cragford Methodist Church during his boyhood and remained a member there until his death. Ha is survived by his wife Mrs. Inez McGill Harris, three sons, Benford of Atlanta, Berford of Winston, and Bertron of Auburn; three daughters; Mrs. Charles Weyant of Auburn, Mrs. Martin Gates of LaGrange, Ga. and Jean who is at home. Six grandchildren, mother and brother of Cragford, and two sisters of Talladega. Pallbearers were Joe Wood, Herbert Baker, Dewitt Childers, John Fargason, Ellis Osborn, and Thurman Roughton.
