Rites Set Friday C. G. "Chess" Haynes 48, of Delta, died at 4:43 a. m. today at 
a Lineville Hospital after a three-day illness. Funeral services will be held at 
2 o'clock Friday with the Rev. Eldrige Wilbern and the Rev. O. D. Parker 
officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Jones Funeral Home in 
charge. Mr. Haynes is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bernice Haynes; three 
daughters. Miss Movine Haynes, Mrs. Bobby Hugh Daugherty, both of Anniston, and 
Miss Euline Haynes of Delta; his father, A. C. Haynes of Delta; four brothers, 
Ike Haynes of Bynum, D. B. Haynes of Delta, Carvel Haynes of Delta, and Odel 
Haynes of Delta; five sisters, Mrs. V. C. Shaddix of Pyriton. Mrs. Olan Harris 
of Lineville, Mrs. H. O. Braden of Wedowee, Mrs. John Brooks of Anniston, and 
Mrs. Bowie Phillips of Delta. Active pallbearers will be Cager Miller, Ted 
Mitchell, L. D. Miller, Euless Summerlin, Hartford Sims, and John McClough.
