Anniston Star
Mrs. Irene Carpenter Haynes, 78, of M-11 Glenaddie died early today at Anniston 
Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 
2:30 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church in Clay County with the Rev. Roy Carpenter 
and the Rev. Zake Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, 
Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. 
Lela H. Pinson of Birmingham, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 
Pallbearers will be James Taylor. John D. McClurkin, Raymond Graham, Terry 
Taylor, Jerry P. Hunt and Daniel J. Hunt. A native of Clay County, Mrs. Haynes 
had lived in Calhoun County 16 years and was a member of New Hope Church in 
Cullman County. The body will lie at the funeral home until an hour before 
services.
