His little body was laid to rest in Concord cemetery Feb. 3rd. Yes, little Douglas has gone the ways of this life and can never more come to us, but David says I shall go to him. Death is the way God has prepared to bring us to a better life. Dear Father and Mother, while little Douglas is gone from you, remember that he is with his heavenly parent in his bright eternal home to wait and watch for you, Father and Mother, when God shall call you to that land. When you are made sad as you look upon his little garments in the home rejoice that your heavenly Father has clothed him in a robe pure and white and as you can almost hear his little voice in the home remember that he now sings a beautiful song as Jesus smiles on his sweet little form. Again when you almost hear the coming of his little feet and see his little hands uplifted to be placed about your neck, remember that these little feet are playing on the streets of gold while the little arms are uplifted in praise to the king. So bow in humble submission to the will of God and say the "Lord giveth and Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord". His Aunt, Mrs. H.O. Carpenter.
