Ashland Progress
Funeral rites for Mr. Oren U. Z. Heath were held at Liberty Hill Church on Sept. 
17th at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Grady Birchfield. Interment was in nearby 
cemetery with Blair Funeral Directors in charge. Pallbearers were Willis D. 
Lambert, James Lambert, Jesse Hanner, Ralph Roughton, Jesse Stanford, James 
Nunn. Flower girls were Mary, Janice and Joyce Denney, Louise Heath, Joyce 
Giddens, Kay Miller, Betty Barnett, Frankie Heath. Mr. Heath passed away on 
Sept. 15th in a Tuscaloosa Hospital at the age of 54. He is survived by his 
wife; five sons, Clifford, Byron, James Bell, Hilton Gay, Ashland; William H., 
Lanett Three daughters, Mrs. Irene Roughton, Mrs. Maudine Hunt, Ashland; Mrs. 
Imogene Hanner, Montgomery. His mother, Mrs. Lou Heath, Sylacauga. Four 
brothers, six sisters and twenty grandchildren.
