Ashland Progress
John E. Hester passed away at his home, on a rural route, out of Ashland, August 
12, 1946. Funeral services for the deceased were conducted at the home of his 
son, J. W. Hester, in Lineville, by Rev. S. C. Ray. Interment was in Pleasant 
Hill cemetery with Blair directing. At the time of his passing, he had reached 
the ripe old age of 81. He is survived by eight children; his wife having 
preceded him in death. Pallbearers were Virgil Hester, Louis Harrison, A. H. 
Mulkey, Gaston Yates, Richard Abner and J.C, Chapman.
