Hicks Henry C. Hicks, 89, of 109 W. 16th St. died Sunday at Anniston Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. J.R. Brown and the Rev. Sherman Harper officiating. Burial will be m the church cemetery in Clay County. Pallbearers will be Herschel and Heulan Pate, Doyle and Shelby Miller, Norman and Jerry Haynes, Gary Gregg, Frank Cobb and Ernest Midgett. The body will lie at Gray Brown - Service Mortuary until time of services. Mr. Hicks is survived by nine daughters, Mrs. Pauline Pate, Mrs. Edna Cobb and Mrs. Alice Jones of Anniston, Mrs. Eve Gregg of Oxford, Mrs. Lillian Miller of Alexandria, Mrs. Erma Varnes, Mrs. Maymie Turley, Mrs. Elsie Maxwell and Mrs. Christine Tate of Saks; one sister. Mrs. Carrie Langley and one brother, Ace Hicks of Ashland. 30 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. A native of Clay County, Mr. Hicks had lived in Calhoun County the past 40 years.
