Lineville Headlight
A Good Man Has Departed This Life.
Hartwell S Hill was born June 7, 1838, in Anson County, North Carolina. He moved 
to Chambers County, Alabama, in 1874 and was married to Susan Ann Cole on March 
24, 1861. He joined the M E Church South, in childhood and served as steward 
almost ever since. He departed this life Dec 1, 1910. He was a devout Christian. 
a loving father, a good neighbor and citizen and will be greatly missed by his 
many relatives and friends. He leaves a wife and seven children who mourn his 
departure. His home was a home for the preachers for the last 40. years. The 
writer entered his home thirty years ago and a more Godly man I never saw. He 
gave all to God and lived the life of the righteous and in the triumph of a 
loving faith went home to God. The pains of death are past, labor and sorrow 
ceased, and life's long warfare closed at last. His soul has found peace with 
Christ. Hia loved ones have my sympathy in their sad hours of be reavement.
