Ashland Progress, Oct 14, 1926
Charlie Hill, colored, is in a serious condition and Olin Bailey, another negro, 
is in the county jail as result of a difficulty which occurred Saturday night 
near Smith's store about four miles south of Ashland. The Knight negro is said 
to be dangerously stabbed. It is said that there were no eyewitness to the 
difficulty except the wives of the two negroes and it is rumored that one of the 
women also was hurt. Sheriff Stewart captured the Baily negro about daybreak 
Sunday morning.
