Our Mountain Home
One of the most shocking affairs which has taken place in our county in a long 
while occurred about two miles east of Lineville last Saturday night. William 
Hilton, more familiarly known as Pope Hilton stabbed and killed his son Calhoun 
Hilton, a grown young man. It appears that the son had been drinking and he and 
his father became engaged in an altercation or broil, which resulted in the 
tragedy. The entire community is very much shocked by the sad occurrence.

Dec 2, 1902:
Pone Hilton, who killed his son near Lineville a few weeks ago, has been sent to 
the insane asylum at Tuscaloosa.
