N. Hobbs breathed his last at his home on Route 2. Mr. Hobbs was, for one of his age, a very active and well-preserved man physically until only a few days ago when he contracted pneumonia which rapidly did its fatal work. He was buried Monday evening at 3 o'clock in Pleasant Grove cemetery near where he resided and adjacent to his home church; Mr. Hobbs was approaching close to his 74th birthday, which would have occurred in June. He was born within a quarter of a mile of the place of his death and, with the exception of a very few years, had resided in that community continuously all his life. He belonged to a well-known Clay County family and has a host of relatives, though only one brother and one sister survive him. They are G. T. Hobbs of Ashland and Miss Martha Hobbs. He leaves six sons and seven daughter's, CO., J. M. and C. A Hobbs and Mrs. J. W. Gaither of Ashland being among the number. The deceased was a loyal and leading member of the Christian church during the greater part of his life and when the end came he expressed himself as being ready to die. He was a veteran of the Civil was and in many ways served well his day and generation.
