Hobbs had been killed at Winter Garden, where he had been residing several years. Another man was reported killed in the same shooting affair and still another was wounded! Particulars concerning the tragedy had not been learned at the time this was written, but from the reports it appears to have been the outgrowth of trouble that had been brewing in circles of the town for. some time. All three men either were or had been connected with the police force, according to reports. Mr. Hobbs body was brought back here, arriving Wednesday morning. It was carried to the home of his brother J. M. Hobbs, where quite a number of relatives and friends of the family were gathered. The funeral and interment was at Pleasant Grove, near the old family home Wednesday afternoon. At the time of the tragedy Mrs. Hobbs, wife of the deceased, was in Birmingham, where her father was killed only a few days ago in, an auto mobile wreck in which her mother was also hurt. Before moving to Florida Mr. and Mrs. Hobbs and their daughter, Dorothy, resided in Ashland some time and made many friends to whom news of his untimely death brings sorrow. A large group of relatives and friends accompanied the remains to the funeral.
