Ashland Progress
Funeral rites for Mr. Cecil Martin Hobbs of Roanoke, were held at Blair's Chapel 
at 1 o'clock p.m. on Feb. 9th, conducted by Rev. Gerald Romine of Roanoke. 
Interment was in pleasant Grove Cemetery with Blair Funeral Directors in charge. 
Pallbearers were Ottis McCain, O. B. Pruet, Maynard Pruet, Wen-del Pruet, Wilburn 
Pruet and Boyd Runyan. Mr. Hobbs passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. 
Frank Watson, on Feb. 8th at the age of 77. He was a native of Clay County, had 
been with Mr. and Mrs. Watson for the past several months, since having surgery. 
Besides Mrs. Watson, he is survived by two sons, Boyd and Clyde Hobbs of Anniston 
and two sisters.
