Interment was in the nearby cemetery with Blair Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Bruce Taylor, M. M. Creed, Nelson Poe, Louis Mitchell, Brenton Rice, Jerry Mitchell, Harles Adamson, Larry Mitchell, Mr. Clark. The only surviving members of this immediate family is a daughter, Mrs. Charles E. Woods of Anniston and her four children. Mr. Hobbs is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. W. Y. Smith, Lineville; Mrs. W. B. Crabbs of Anniston; and a brother, Cecil Hobbs of Anniston. Besides the daughter, Mrs. Hobbs is survived by a Mrs. Christine Ward of Anniston. Mr. and Mrs. Willie Hobbs and son, Russell, were burned to death on the night of April 5th, when their home and all belongings were destroyed by fire. The origin of the fire is unknown. A neighbor, Wayne Williams, was awakened by the barking of his dog, but the fire was beyond control. The Ashland Fire Department was called and, went out but nothing could be done.
