Hodnett, 71, of Cragford, Rt. 1, were today at the Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Blanton, the Rev. Hollis Horn and the Rev. Grady Birchfield officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville in charge. Mr. Hodnett died Saturday at Clay County Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Hodnett of Cragford; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Preston of Opelika and Miss Joy Hodnett of Phoenix City; two sons, Gene Hodnett of Alpine and Ray Hodnett of Cragford; his mother, Mrs. W.P. Hodnett of Alexander City; three stepsons, Wayne Hornsby of Lafayette, Mack Hornsby of Phoenix City, and Wade Hornsby of Da vis ton; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robbie Ratliff of Cragford; a brother, Howard Hodnett of Alexander City; three sisters. Mrs. Mae Elda Caldwell of Alexander City, Mrs. Kate Elliot of Wadley, and Mrs. Ola Bell Meredith of Orange, Calif.; six grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers were Everett Cotney, Robert Hodnett, C.L. Gregg, Merrell Caldwell, Raymond Elliot and Doug Wellborn. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Alabama Forestry Commission. Mr. Hodnett was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County and was retired from the State Forestry Commission. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church.
