Ashland Progress
Mr. Miles Holdridge, one of the oldest citizens of Clay County, died at the home 
of Mr. and Mrs. A. McGlon in the Macedonia community on Dec. 19th. Funeral 
services were held at County Line on Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. C. 
Harrington. Burial was in the nearby cemetery. Colonial Funeral Chapel 
directing. The deceased was 90 years of age and is survived by one daughter Mrs. 
A. J. McGlon of Ashland, Route 1., four sons: J. E. Holdridge of Dadeville, W. 
B. and W. D. Holdridge of Wadley, and E. L. Holdridge of Marton. Texas. Active 
pallbearers were Alton Mc Glon, Buel McGlon, Chalmer Hold ridge, C. C. Hallman, 
Floyd Hold ridge, and Ellis Holdridge. Honorary pallbearers were: J. E. 
Blankenship, C. O. Beck, Hubert Thompson, W. M. Perry, J. E. Moon, and J. H. 
Burroughs.
