The Birmingham News
Funeral services for Harry C. Holt, former owner of the Holt Sign Company here, 
were held today. Rites were conducted in the Johns Funeral Chapel by Dr. Robert 
C. Cross. Burial was in Brownsville Cemetery, near Goodwater. Mr. Holt, 63, died 
Wednesday night in a local hospital. He lived on Sades Mountain. A native of 
Dayton, Tenn he came to Birmingham in 1918 and for several years was connected 
with an amusement company. He then became owner of the sign company and remained 
in that business capacity until he retired in 1942. He was a member of the 
Masonic Lodge, the Elks Club and the City Sales Clubs. Survivors include his 
widow and two daughters. Mrs. John Heath, Trussville. and Mrs. Floretta 
Chappelear, Birmingham.
