Clay County Watchman
Whereas: Our Heavenly Father, in his wisdom, has removed by death, our highly 
esteemed and worthy brother, Archa Hooten, who departed this life Feb. 8th, 
1888, from the effects of a stroke of paralysis received a few days previous to 
his death, be it Resolved: That in the death of brother Archa Hooten, Bluff 
Spring Farmer's Alliance No. bas lost a most exemplary and worthy member. The 
county, a most excellent citizen, the church, h shining light, his family a wise 
and discreet father and counsellor, And while we deplore our great loss, we 
fully recognize his great gain, and with bowed heads and melting hearts, humbly 
submit to God's sovereign will being done. Be it further Resolved: That we 
tender to Ihe bereaved wife and children our heartfelt sympathy and condolence. 
Be it further Resolved: That a copy of these memorial resolutions be sent to the 
county paper and request them to publish same and also a copy be sent to the 
family. That a copy also be spread upon the minutes of Bluff Spring Farmer's 
Alliance No.
