Clay County Advance
On the 18th of May the angel of death visited our midst, and claimed for its own 
one of our purest and sweetest flowers, full blown with the transcendent 
loveliness that may cling to an earthly character, in the person of Mrs. Francis 
Hooton, wife of Archable Hooton who died several years ago. It can be truly said 
of her "none knew her but to love her". From her pure life was shed to all with 
whom she lived and met, purity and radiance akin to Heaven such as can only 
emanate from a true Christian.  Her sweet influence, so gently shed and deeply 
felt can never be forgotten. This influence. what a blessing, to her children 
and many friends. It will live and flourish, yes not only in this world but will 
bloom forever among the asphodels and immortalls of the balm breathing gardens 
of Eden............
