Ashland News
Another old father has gone home. He was the pride and delight of his family. 
Mr. Henry Hornsby was born on November the 17th, 1811. Died August the 26th, 
1879. He was 67 years 8 months, and 9 days old. He was born in South Carolina, 
and moved to Dekalb county, Ga, when a boy and remained there until he married 
Miss Nancy Maden, on the 29th of January 1832. He obtained a hope in Christ 
while a young roan, and the Lord directed his steps. He parleyed not with flesh 
and blood, but forward io the discharge of his duty and was received and 
baptized into the church of the Primitive Baptist faith, where he remained until 
the day of his death; Our old father, we believe to have been an honest and 
upright man. He was plain and honest in all his dealings with his neighbors ever 
promised anything but what he tried to comply with..... M.E.A.H.
