Ashland Progress
Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Macedonia 
Primitive Baptist church for Morris Hornsby, who died early Friday morning at the 
home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Hornsby, about 2 miles northwest of 
Ashland. Morris was residing in Talladega where he had employment when he had an 
attack of appendicitis. He underwent the operation at the home of his parents a 
week before his death. The deceased was 22 years of age and is survived by his 
wife and an infant son, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Hornsby, three brothers, 
Lorenzo of California, Buford of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and Milford of Ashland, and 
two sisters, Mrs. Buster Williams of Ashland, and Mrs. Josie Bell Avery of 
LaGrange, Ga. Burial was in the Macedonia cemetery, Blair in charge.
