Ashland Progress
Maudine Heath Hunt, 28, native of Clay County, resident of Wedowee, route 3, 
died in Clay County Hospital September 20. Funeral rites were conducted by Rev. 
Reuben Birchfield and Rev. Elmer Wheeles at Corinth Baptist Church, Sept. 21. 
Blair directing with interment in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Surviving are the 
husband, Walter Hunt, three daughters, Dorthey Ann, Rebecca and Betty Lou Hunt, 
mother, Mrs. Daisy Heath, two sisters, Mrs. Irene Roughton, Mrs. Annie Jean 
Hanner, five brothers, Clifford, Byron, William, James and Hilton Heath. 
Pallbearers, D. L. Wolf, Perry Wayne Denney, Julius and Carlton Wolf, Ralph 
Roughton, Julius Heath.
Acting as flower girls include Joyce, Janice, and Mary Denney, Frankie Kay 
Heath, Joyce Gid-dens, Veriona Yates.
